La Storia epitomata

Una rilettura di Floro alla luce della problematica recente, dalla quale scaturiscono alcune novità sul metodo di composizione e sull'uso delle fonti, che portano alla rivalutazione di un autore spesso a torto sottovalutato, da identificarsi con il retore-poeta maturato negli anni da Domiziano ad Adriano, ma artefice dell'opus magnum sotto Antonino Pio, in vista della solenne celebrazione del nono centenario di Roma.

In view of the solemn celebration of Rome's ninth centenary, this work presents a rereading of Floro in light of recent research. These new works have given rise to new ideas regarding methods of composition and the utilization of sources that lead to a reevaluation of an author that is often wrongly undervalued. The work identifies the author with the matured rhetor/poet of the years between Domiziano and Adriano, but also creator of his opus magnum under Antonino Pio.
